Carter Eugene Yost, 95, of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital, in Indianapolis, IN.  He was born on January 1, 1922, in Randolph County, IN, to Lewis C. and Adeline (Carter) Yost.

Carter was a farmer southwest of Winchester and worked in the ASC office in Winchester. He was a veteran of the US Army in WWII.  Carter was a member of the Winchester Masonic Lodge #56, an Honorary Member of the Shrine of Cincinnati, OH.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post 158 in Union City, IN, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Union City. Carter was a big sports fan and enjoyed going to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events.

Carter is survived by his wife whom he married on April 29, 1989, June (Shreeve) Yost of Winchester; son, Terry (Tricia)Yost of Middletown; daughter, Sierra (Jim) Secaur of Van Wert, OH; two step sons, Ron (Danna Rae) Anderson of Winchester, and Bruce (Lori) Anderson of Muncie; step daughter, Millie Reed of Winchester; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lewis, James, Lavern and Edgar Yost; and two sisters, Edna Williamson and Leesa Gettinger.

Funeral services for Carter will be held on Saturday September 30, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, Indiana with Clayton Anderson officiating. Burial and Military rites will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Maxville, Indiana. Friends and family may call from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.

June, Ron, Bruce, Millie and all the grandchildren:

We so enjoyed eating suppers with him and June at Bartonia.
