Peggy Jorene (Shanahan) McDavid

Peggy Jorene (Shanahan) McDavid, 84, of Markleville, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.  She was born on March 26, 1939, in Converse, IN to Ralph and Mary Elizabeth (Thomas) Shanahan.

Peggy was a caregiver to her father, mother, husband and sister.  She had a strong Baptist Faith.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

Peggy is survived by her brothers, Billy (Patty) Shanahan of Modesto, CA and Leslie (Tina) Shanahan of Jonesboro, IN; her brothers and sisters in law, Betty Jenkins of Lancaster, OH, Paul McDavid of Portland, IN, Garrett McDavid of Lynn, IN, Carra Faye Chalfant of Winchester, and Lovie (Sam) Farrington of Lynn, IN; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack McDavid; and a sister, Beverly Shanahan; her father and mother in law, Lovie and Cleo McDavid; and brothers and sister in law, Jim McDavid, Billy Carl McDavid, Harry McDavid, Monnie Lou Tarter, and Larry Homer McDavid.

A service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, March 22, at the Walker Funeral Home with Billy Shanahan officiating.  Burial will follow at the Saratoga Cemetery.

Friends and family may call from 12-2 p.m., on Friday, at the funeral home.
