Robert (Bob) Blansett II Obituary

Robert (Bob) G. Blansett II, 73, of Winchester, passed away at IU Ball Hospital on Sunday, April 21, 2024.  He was born on April 20, 1951, in Winchester, IN, to Robert and Wanda Blansett.

Robert graduated from Winchester Community High School in 1969.  Once graduated from high school he promptly joined the US Army, and proudly served for 4 years.  After his service in the US Army, he spent the next 44 years at Anchor Hocking Glass in Winchester, where he retired.  He was a Mason, a Shriner of the Masonic Lodge in Union City; he once was a clown at the Shrine Circus in Fort Wayne and he enjoyed working on all kinds of electronics.  He also took pride in his faith, as he was assistant preacher at Maxville Christian Church.  Other than spending time with his family, his favorite thing to do was to play golf.  During his 73 years of life, this fun, compassionate, and loving man became many things: a husband, father, an uncle, a grandpa, a great grandpa, and a son of Christ.  Bob was loved by so many, and undoubtedly will be deeply missed.

Robert is survived by his wife of 42 wonderful years, Vicki Blansett of Winchester; 3 daughters, Venus Marie Blansett of Winchester, Tina Blansett of Winchester, and Christina (Antonio) Vazquez of Texas; 4 step children, Troy (Marci) Lovell of Farmland, Jay (Melissa) Lovell of Union City, Rita Sheridan, of Winchester, and Brian (Tammy) Lovell of Winchester; a sister, Deborah (Don) Swartz of Newburg, IN; 23 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wanda Blansett.
