Ernest Douglas Lanter, 78, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Pine Knoll Nursing Home in Winchester.  He was born on June 29, 1939, in Cynthiana, KY to James Lanter and Gladys (Fooks) Lanter. 

Doug worked at Huffy Manufacturing for 21 years, Overmyer Mould for 16 years, and Walmart for 20 Years.  Doug attended two churches, Freedom Life in Winchester, and Fountain City Wesleyan in Fountain City.  Doug loved going to church, sports, his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his dog Joy.

Doug is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy (Alyea) Lanter of Winchester; three children, Douglas Allen (wife Diane) Lanter, Tracy Brian (wife Jodi) Lanter, and Tina (husband Don) Selby; his sister, Judy McGuire; two brothers, David Lanter and James (wife Hollie) Lanter; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ted (wife Yvonne) Lanter and Bill (wife Naomi) Lanter; and his sisters, Patty (husband Rick) Perry and Marjorie McInnis.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Freedom Life Church with Pastor Jeff Bullard officiating.  Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.

Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Monday at the church.

Nancy, so sorry to hear about Doug's passing. He fought hard for several years. He was always smiling and happy. Enjoyable to be around. Bless you.
