Richard (Dick) G. Greene of Winchester, Indiana passed away July 1, 2017 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Dick was born in Lynn, Indiana November 18, 1936 to William and Frances Greene.

After graduating from Spartanburg High School, he served in the U.S. Navy (6 years), Army National Guard (17 years), was a volunteer fireman at Union City, White River, and Winchester Fire Departments. Dick was also a Reserve Deputy for the Randolph County Sheriffs Dept. and retired from Overmyer Mold/ Ross Mold.

He enjoyed going to Canada on fishing trips with the guys, watching the girls’ basketball games for the Winchester Falcons and Ball State Cardinals. He also enjoyed his annual trip to Las Vegas going to the Casinos and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.  Dick was not only an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, but was also a member of the Phi Delts, Winchester Moose Lodge, and the Farmland American Legion. 

Dick is survived by his wife Carole Greene of Winchester IN; son Russell Greene (wife Sherri) of Kingsville TX; daughter Vivian Greene of Winchester IN; sister Sharon Girton (husband Ken); sister Nell Girton (husband Gary); 6 grandchildren; Tyler Mangas (wife Sara), Stina Mangas, BreAnn Kennedy (husband Brandon), Caleb Mangas, John Greene (wife Brenda), Rebecca Greene and 11 great grandchildren.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances Greene.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.  Friends and family may call from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital.

I worked with Dick many years ago at OMCO. I thought he was a nice guy and fun to work with.I still have my round too it.He will be missed.
