William B. (Bill) Shires, 85, of Ft. Wayne, IN passed away on Thursday Feb. 16, 2023 at Byron Wellness Center, Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born on Sept. 22, 1937 in Winchester, IN to Irvin and Marguerite E. (Somerville) Shires.
 

Bill was a 1958 graduate of Winchester High School. He worked many jobs in the Winchester area over the years. Bill was an avid fan of the Winchester Community High School Falcons, the Purdue Boilermakers and the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Bill is survived by his nieces, nephews, their children and many cousins.
 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Manfred Shires, who died in infancy; a sister, Barbara L. (Dick)  McCoy and special friend Janet L. Pruitt.

A service to celebrate Bill's life will be at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Steve McCoy officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
