Vergie Sue (Goforth) Almonrode

Vergie Sue (Goforth) Almonrode, 98, of Saratoga, died Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Reid Medical Center in Richmond surrounded by her loving family.         She was a beautician who had a shop in her home for many years.  Vergie was a member of Saratoga United Methodist Church.  In her later years, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.  She also enjoyed quilting and painting.

Vergie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Irvin, in 1987, their son, Jeffrey, in 1959 and her parents, Virgil and Mae Goforth in 1985.  She was also preceded in death by sisters Nelora, Lavonne, and Norma.

Vergie is survived by her sister, Marjorie Wilford of Tucson, AZ.  She is also survived by three daughters: Terry Lynn (Jon) Youse of Hoagland, Indiana; Brenda Sue (Paul) Rettman of Camp Verde, Texas; Betty Jo (Tim) Smith of Saratoga, Indiana.  She is survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Vergie’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the Saratoga United Methodist Church in Saratoga, Indiana, with Pastor Robert Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Saratoga Cemetery.

Friends and family may call from 1-2 p.m., on Tuesday at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Saratoga United Methodist Church, 104 N. Main St., Saratoga, IN 47382.
