Thomas D. Knoll, 89, of Lynn, Indiana, died on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at this home. He was born on June 9, 1933, to Myrvil and Doris (Ballenger) Knoll at home in the Lynn area.
Tom was a resident of Randolph County all his life. He graduated from Spartanburg High School. Tom served 2 years in the Army, serving in Germany.
Tom was married to his high school sweetheart, Wanda Joann Ketring, for 64 years. He farmed all of his life and loved watching things grow. Tom enjoyed being with his family, as well as fishing, gardening, and mushroom hunting. Special times making memories with his grandchildren, always put a smile on his face.
Tom is survived by his son, Steven Knoll (Gail) from Lynn, his daughter, Sharon Phillips (Bruce) from Richmond, and son, Edward Knoll (Lori) from Lynn; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sisters, Letha Cox (Austin), Donna Kochersperger, and Bonnie Seffrin (Mike); as well as several nieces and nephews, many friends, and his dog, Lady.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Joann Knoll; parents, Myrvil and Doris Knoll; sister, Marjorie Neudecker (Hans); and brother-in-law, John Kochersperger.
A service to celebrate Tom’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Pastor Ron Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at the Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
Friends and family may call from 12-2 p.m., on Friday, at the funeral home.
