Scot J. Enghaus, 66, of Eaton, formerly of Winchester, passed away on Saturday September 2, 2023, at the Springs of Richmond. He was born on January 2, 1957, in Winchester, to Charles and Joyce “Marceil” (Mullen) Enghaus.
Scot graduated from Winchester Community High School and earned an Associate’s Degree from Purdue University. Prior to retirement, he was the Randolph County Sanitarian Scot also farmed, worked at Best Way, drove a truck and owned his own trucking company, served as a sheriff’s deputy, as well as a bailiff. He had also been a member of Phi Delta Kappa and Circle X Ranch. He enjoyed fishing, horses, boating, and loved spending time with his granddaughters.
Scot is survived by his wife, Missy Enghaus; two children, Dana Hartzell (Scott) and Jason Enghaus; a loving step daughter, Abbie Steele (Mike); three grandchildren, Alex Hartzell, Kyleigh Steele, and MaKenna Steele; a brother and a sister; and several special nieces and nephews.
Scot was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service to celebrate Scot’s life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Ron Anderson officiating. A celebration of life meal will be after services at the Phi Delta Kappa.
