Sandra E. Winkle, 72, of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Parker Health Care in Parker City.
Sandra was born on August 21, 1953, in Richmond, Indiana to the late William and Norma Day. She married James Winkle on October 15, 1977. Sandra worked as a dietary cook at Randolph County Nursing Home for over 15 years. She was a member of the Maxville Christian Church. Sandra enjoyed reading and listening to gospel music.
Sandra is survived by three daughters, Swamee Ramsey, Thelma Jean Martin, and Tina Mock; a step-daughter, Marlenea Yoder; eight grandchildren, Kyle Moore, Courtney Roach, Austin Moore, Marissa Mock, Ethan Mock, Zach Bowlin, Angel Bowlin, and Matthew Bowlin; ten great-grandchildren; nine siblings, Larry Day, Curt Day, Rick Day, Marvin Day, Leslie Day, Joe Day, Duane Day, Terry Day, and Lisa Mezel; and many nieces and nephews.
Sandra was preceded in death by her loving husband of 22 years, James Winkle; a great-grandson, Legend Whitmire; and a brother, Timothy Day.
A funeral service to celebrate Sandra’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Maxville.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Sandra.
