Ryan Ellis Obituary

“Well, here at last, dear friends, on the shores of the Sea comes the end of our fellowship in Middle-earth. Go in peace! I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil".— Gandalf to Sam, Merry, and Pippin

Dear friends—our time here with Ryan Michael Ellis, our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, and friend, on earth has ended. Ryan joyfully entered his parents’ lives on January 11, 1988, and quietly left on February 24, 2026, to enter Glory.

Ryan was lovingly harassed by two sisters, Lacey (Hummel) and Brittany (Sipe). He commiserated with two brothers-in-law, Joshua Hummel and Gregory Sipe. He loved and spoiled his nephews and niece, Caleb, Auden, Bodie, Merrick, and Levi. He also generously loved several foster nieces and nephews through the years.

Ryan had a brilliant mind and loved all things history and Lord of the Rings. He was the smartest person in the room, yet in most rooms you wouldn’t know it since he was the quietest. Ryan loved spending time with and slapping his two best friends, Ryan Howel and Dennis Bosler.

Ryan valiantly fought and WON his fight against Marfan Syndrome. He is no longer in pain from rods in his spine. He can take a deep breath and is no longer shortened by broken, constricted lungs. He can see the stars and is no longer blind.  If only we could get a glimpse of Ryan in God’s perfection, but we have full faith in God’s promise, and know Ryan is happy.

1 Corinthians 15:43 promises “Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength.” So with this in mind, we desire to rejoice for Ryan’s freedom and healing with Jesus.
