Ruth F (Miller) Henisa

Ruth F. Henisa, 98, of Lynn passed away at her home on Monday, December 30, 2024 following a lengthy illness. She was born May 15, 1926 in Boston, In. to the late Charles R. and Susie A. (Jones) Miller.

Ruth was a graduate of McKinley High School, Winchester, IN. She married Chester B. Henisa on November 25, 1944.  Ruth will be remembered for her concern for others, her love of bowling, watching women’s basketball and mowing her yard in her nineties. She was a member of the New Liberty Congregational Christian Church, Lynn, IN.

Ruth is survived by her children, Virginia Pierce (husband Thomas deceased), Fountain City, John Henisa (wife: Hilda), Indianapolis, Susan Henisa, Lynn, and Carol Hill (Husband: Eric) Frostproof, FL. She is also survived by one grandson, Ian Henisa, three step grandchildren, Rick, Mark, and John Pierce, several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister and three brothers.

A service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Pastor Dale Bales officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Maxville.
