Ruth Ann (McDonald) Fouse

Ruth Ann (McDonald) Fouse, 80, of Winchester, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie.  She was born on November 17, 1944 to the late Gordon and Martha (Huffer) McDonald at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana

Ruth Ann attended schools in Centerville, Wayne County, Indiana and Forest, Clinton County, Indiana before graduating from Fountain City High School in 1962.  She attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana from 1962-1965 majoring in Music (Pipe Organ), minoring in Christian Education.  On June 12, 1965, she married Danny Jay Fouse at the Lynn Church of the Nazarene Fellowship Hall.  Danny and Ruth Ann raised their family around the Saratoga and Winchester Communities.  Ruth Ann was a Piano-Organ Teacher for 25 years; Pipe Organist at Winchester Friends Church for 30 years; Church Choir Director for 12 years; Accompanist for the Vocal Music Departments of Winchester High School and Driver Middle School for 16 years; Pianist for rehearsals and musicals at WCHS for 16 years; Church Secretary for Main Street Christian Church for 15 ½ years.  She was a member of the Randolph Friends Church in Ridgeville; and a former member of New Garden Friends Church, Winchester Friends Church, and Hazelwood Christian Church in Muncie.  She was very active in USFW at Winchester Friends Church.  Ruth Ann’s hobbies included gardening, planting flowers, playing piano and organ, baking and delivering baked goods to shut-ins and family.

Ruth Ann is survived by her husband, Danny Jay Fouse; her son, David A. Fouse (Anita) of Forest, IN; her daughter, Lisa L. Hayes of Asheboro, NC; seven grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and her aunt, E. Joyce McDonald.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Joyce Careins; her son-in-law, David Hayes; her granddaughter, Shayla Fouse; and great granddaughter, Lydia Altic.

A service to celebrate Ruth Ann’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Pastor Jonathan Edwards officiating.  Burial will follow at Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga.
