Russell (Russ) Ozbun 80 of Winchester, passed away November 17th at home. Russ was born on Sept. 20, 1944 in Winchester, IN to Kenneth Ozbun & Ardonna (Keister) Ozbun.
Russ graduated from Driver High School 1963. He was Certified as a Meter Instrumentation Technician, Certified Natural Gas Pipe Line Welding Inspector, Certified Plastic Fusion Inspector. Russ was also a member of several associations including IGA Quarterly Meeting. He also was Co-owner of Russ and Ed’s Service, and worked at Ralph Cook Remodeling, Campbell’s Soup, and Carpenter Auto Parts. Russ retired from Ohio Valley Gas Company after 50+ years and is the only person to have reached that milestone with OVG!
Russ was Honorably discharged from the US Army. Russ was a member of the Farmland Conservation Club, and the American Legion Post 65. He was also a past member of Phi Delta Kappa, Winchester Moose, Jaycees and the Randolph County Timing Association.
Russ is survived by his wife Jerrillynn, Sons Brian, Jason (Keatha), Daughter Amiee, Brother In-Law Tom, Sister In-Law Jennifer, Grandchildren, Tyler (Kelley), Derrick (Alex), Alyssa (Eli), Trevor, Dylan, Averi, Gunnar, Great Grandchildren, Lillian, Temperance, Charlotte, Colsen, McKenzie, Savannah, Ronald.
Russ was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother (James), Sister (Shirley) and Son (Andy).
A Celebration of life will be held at Phi Delta Kappa November 30th from 2pm to 6pm, 825 North Residence Street Winchester. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to go to the Winchester Animal Shelter.
