Ronald Raymond Rector

Ronald Raymond Rector, 81, a long time Winchester resident, died Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Willows of Richmond, where he had resided since early August.

Ron was born in Randolph County on June 28, 1943 to the late Carl and Garnet (Rittenhouse) Rector.  He was a 1961 graduate of Winchester Community High School.  He was a hard worker and a concrete finisher for 40+ years.  He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed playing cards, boating, auto racing, horse racing and vacations at Indiana Beach.

Surviving are his children: Chris Rector (Angela) of Winchester; Karla Moore (Gregg) of Hagerstown;  Chad Rector (Jaime) of Losantville; Veronicka Heitkamp (Andrew) of Richmond: a brother Steve Rector (Vicky) of Tennessee: seven grandchildren, Blake Moore, Dylan Moore, Sydney Rector, Taylor Rector,  Morgan Rector, Jack Rector  and RaeLynn Heitkamp: several nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece Susan and her son Kyle.

A service to celebrate Ron’s life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home, with Pastor Ray Slick officiating.  Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester

Friends and family will call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
