Richard Lee Pence, 92, of rural Montpelier, IN, passed away at 11:48 AM on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at University Nursing Center in Upland, IN. He was born on Sunday, October 10, 1929, in Blackford County, IN. to Warren C. and Iris M. (Enochs) Pence. He married Catherine Joan (Denton) Pence on Sunday, June 3, 1951 at the Pleasantdale Church. He was a member of the Army National Guard. Richard was a 1948 graduate of Montpelier High School. He was a lifetime Blackford County farmer. He retired from Sheller Globe in 1966.
He is survived by his Daughter - Kathy (Ryan) McCall, Montpelier, IN, Grandsons - Rick Dunica, Hartford City, IN, Steve Dunica, Winchester, IN, Granddaughters - Jennifer McCall, Boston, MA, Brooke McCall, Marion, IN, Great Grandchildren - Rydge Dunica, Rylee Dunica, Nathaniel Dunica, Nick Dunica, Addie Dunica, Rylan Martin, and Omari Small.
He was preceded in death by his Parents- Warren C. & Iris Marie (Enochs) Pence, Wife - Catherine Joan (Denton) Pence, Brother - Robert Pence, and Sisters - Pat DeBatty, & Donna Simon.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Richard’s life will follow at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 10, 2022 with Rev. Bob Bothast officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier.
