Rev. Edwin Retter

Rev. Edwin L Retter, 89, of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.  He was born on August 30, 1933, in Winchester, Indiana to Harold and Cordelia (Brouse) Retter.

Edwin was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and together with his late wife Patricia served in the ministry for 65 years. He was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene in 1973 with his last pastorate being in Jerseyville, Ill.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved all things John Deere. Most of all he loved serving God and caring for people.

Edwin is survived by his daughter, Dr Rovina (Retter) Hatcher of South Korea; son in law Steve Proffitt of Huntington, IN; 4 grandchildren Scott (Amanda) Proffitt, Jay (April) Hatcher, Kevin (Anne Marie) Hatcher, and Amy (Cameron) McCrary; 10 great grandchildren; 6 sisters, and 1 brother.

Besides his parents Edwin was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Patricia; daughter Eudella (Retter) Proffitt; son in law Mark Hatcher and brothers Ward, Duane and Phil Retter

Visitation will be at the Winchester First Church of the Nazarene, 403 S Main St Winchester, IN from 3-5 Sunday, February 19th, 2023 with memorial service immediately following.
