Paul Baldwin, age 98 passed away, Thursday, March 10, 2022 at home after a short illness, surrounded by family who loved him so much. Paul was born August 27, 1923 at home in Randolph County to the late Clyde Baldwin and Elsie (Hale) Baldwin.
Paul graduated from McKinley High School in 1942. He married the late Zella Mae (Michael) Baldwin, April 28, 1946 and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Harrisville Congregational Christian Church where he taught Sunday School and held other offices for many years. Paul was a Gideon for 66 years. He loved going to different churches to share his message about the Gideon’s. He was the oldest Gideon in Randolph County.
Paul is survived by daughters, Sandra Wilde (John), Carolyn Fields (Don) and son, David Baldwin (Cathy); sister, Thelma Morehous; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Ralph and Ernie; sisters, Hazel Chenoweth and Frances Macy; great grandson Vince Wiley; granddaughter, Amy Baldwin; and great grandson, Austin Baldwin
A service to celebrate Paul’s life will be at 12:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the Harrisville Congregational Christian Church, 4900 E South St, Union City, IN 47390, with Rev. Coleman Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Union City Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Paul’s name may be made to The Gideons International Processing Center, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251.
