Oscar Gus Neudecker, age 81, of Ridgeville, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 30, 1943, to the late Hans and Frances Neudecker of Ridgeville. He was a 1961 graduate of Ward Jackson High School and served as class treasurer. Oscar lived a full life, characterized by a deep love for his family, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to helping others. Whether telling a joke or simply sharing a funny story, Oscar had the gift of brightening any room he entered. His genuine, lighthearted nature brought joy to everyone around him, and his ability to find humor in life's ups and downs will never be forgotten.
Aside from his relationship with Jesus, the love of his life was his beautiful bride, Betty DeWitt, of Muncie. During their 61 years of marriage, they raised their 3 daughters in a home he built from the ground up. Oscar worked at Overmyer Mould Company as a tool dye maker for almost 20 years before co-owning and operating Accurate Pattern Works. He later was the owner and operator of New Products Inc. in Ridgeville until he happily retired. But, that wasn’t his last work endeavor. Oscar and Betty decided to open up OB’s in Lynn, where they proudly served their customers one of Oscar’s favorite treats, milkshakes, along with many other tasty ice cream desserts.
Oscar is survived by his wife, Betty Neudecker; his 3 daughters: Donna (Robert) White, Debra (Steve) Sauser, and Diana (James) Lewis; his two brothers: Hans (Vicky) Neudecker and Bill (Linda) Neudecker; his 8 grandchildren: Andy (Luzma) Owens, Denny (Angela) Owens, Stephanie (Simon) Martin, Deidre (Zacchary) Conner, Ezekiel (Logan) Lewis, Erin (Eric) Frazier, Kody Sauser, and Emily White; and his 16 great-grandkids including Donovan, Declan, Averie, Madeline, Arya, Elizabeth, and Annie. Oscar also greatly loved his many nieces and nephews as well as close siblings by marriage. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and a nephew.
Family and friends may call upon Oscar on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 10:00am-2:00pm at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, Indiana, with the funeral service to follow. Burial services will be held at Reitenour Cemetery in Ridgeville, Indiana.

Until we meet again, he will be greatly missed.
