Ora D (Patton) Wray

Ora D. Wray, 90, of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Reid Hospital in Richmond.  She was born on July 7, 1930, in Albany, Kentucky to Tom and Ida (Upchurch) Patton.

Ora lived in Albany, Kentucky until 1962 when she married Rev. John Wray and they moved to Winchester.  They were married 44 years until his death.  Ora had worked at Randolph County Hospital until her retirement after 40 years.  She had also worked at the Randolph Nursing Home.  Ora was a member of the Maxville Christian Church.  She was also a member of the Humane Society.  She loved taking care of her cats and dogs and her garden.

Ora is survived by a sister, Odean Duval of Albany, Kentucky; her foster daughter, Corrine Cole of Bradley, IL; and her best friend, Arvil Hinty of Winchester, IN; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Elmer Patton, Jim Patton, and J.G. Patton; and a sister Flonnie Huddleston.

A service to celebrate Ora’s life with her Indiana family and friends, will be at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Brumfield officiating.  Calling will be from 4-6 p.m., on Thursday at the funeral home.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Haddix Weldon Funeral Home in Albany, Kentucky with burial following
