Nita "Tootie" M (Cole) Hummel

Nita “Tootie” (Cole) Hummel, 86, of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Summers’ Pointe.  She was born on April 5, 1936, Winchester, to Hugh and Virginia Cole. 

Tootie was a homemaker.  She was a huge sports fan, especially a fan of the Indiana Pacers, Cincinnati Reds, and Jeff Gordon.  She was a bowler, member of the card club, and a lover of animals. 

Tootie is survived by her four sons, Chris (Jennifer) Hummel, Todd (Angie) Hummel, Patrick (Julie) Hummel, and Shawn (Pauletta) Hummel; twelve grandchildren, Jaxcen, Ashlee, Mason, Sarah, Cate, Anna, Isaac, Haylin, Justin, Brooklynn, Madyson, and Landen; and three great grandchildren, Aiden, Odin, and Connor. 

Tootie is preceded in death by her husband Jack L. Hummel, who passed away in 2004, after being married to Tootie for 49 years; her parents; her daughter, Dawn Marie Hummel; and two sisters, Marjorie Stults and Marveta Beatty.

A service to celebrate Tootie’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Walker Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Lawndale Cemetery in Ridgeville.
