Nancy Jade (Benson) Waltz

Nancy Jade Waltz, 79, was born on June 13, 1945, to Mary and W. Gordon Benson of Richmond, Indiana, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She attended Ball State University, majoring in Art Education and earning a Master's Degree. Nancy taught art for 35 years and continued volunteering in the classroom and mentoring gifted students after her retirement.

Nancy lived in Winchester, where she married John Waltz, blending their beloved family through marriage on July 14, 1988. They were devout followers of Christ and longtime members of Life Spring Church in Fountain City, where they touched the hearts of countless people. After John's passing on August 29, 2023, the cancer she had defeated 26 years earlier returned, and she passed away on January 16, 2025, at Reid Hospital, where she shared her faith and dying wishes with family and friends.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of over 36 years, Homer John Waltz III. She is survived by her son, Gordon Cooper (Linda Cooper); daughter, Jade (Cooper) Malott (Ken Nealy); daughter, Jonna (Waltz) Jones (Jeff Allen); daughter, Roxanne (Waltz) Zordani (Rick Zordani); and son, Chad Waltz (Kim Waltz). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: twin grandsons, Brice Cooper, Russell Cooper, and Vaughn Cooper; grandson, Reasner Malott; granddaughters, Eliza Malott and Meredith Malott; granddaughter, Logan (Jones) Hess (Brennen Hess); granddaughter, LeAnne (Jones) Lopez (Jose Lopez); granddaughter, Oliva (Waltz) Schoentrup; granddaughter, Lydia Jones; grandson, Jake Zordani; great-grandsons, Greysen Hess and Hayden Long; great-grandson, Joshua Lopez; great-granddaughters, Charleen Lopez, Jasmine Lopez, Mia Lopez, and Scottlynn Lopez.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Life Spring Church, 5600 U.S. Highway 27 N in Fountain City, IN. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Cancer Services of Randolph County, 325 S Oak St. Suite 208, Winchester, IN 47394.
