In Loving Memory of Michael D. Stump-February 15, 1952 - September 26, 2023

Michael D. Stump, best known as Mike, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated entrepreneur, passed away peacefully at his childhood home on September 26, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering commitment to his family and community.

Born on February 15, 1952, Mike was a pillar of strength and devotion. He married his soulmate, Jacqueline (Jackie) on July 15, 1973, and together they shared an incredible journey spanning 50 years. Their love and partnership were an inspiration to all who knew them especially their children and grandchildren.

Mike was a loving father to his daughter, Carrie, and son, Jason, and a caring father-in-law to Jamie and Amy. He adored his grandchildren, Logan and the “A-Team”, Addisen, Alexis, and Avery, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.

As the owner and operator of Shockney Electric since 1980, Mike was a testament to the power of hard work and dedication. He took immense pride in his work and built a thriving business known for its reliability and integrity.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald & Wanda, and his brother, Mark. He was a quiet, unassuming man who never sought the spotlight. His strong belief in responsibility and a solid work ethic served as a shining example to all who knew him.

In the quiet moments, in the memories, and in the values he imparted, Mike’s spirit will live on forever. He will be deeply missed by family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jackie would like to acknowledge and send special thanks to her dedicated family, a special caregiver, Hospice nurses, her co-workers, and friends who provided compassionate care and support during Mike's illness over the past year. Your unwavering commitment to his well-being made a significant difference during a challenging time.

A service celebrate Mike’s life will be at 3:00 p.m., on Monday October 2, 2023 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester.  Burial will follow at the Union City Cemetery. 

Friends and family may call from 12-3 p.m., on Monday, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to AseraCare Hospice of Richmond, 4427 Garwood Place, Richmond, Indiana, 47374 in Mike’s memory.

May his soul rest in eternal peace and his memory continue to inspire us all.
