Mary Kathaleen (Witt) Cassady

Mary Kathaleen Cassady, 95, of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020.  She was born in Log Lick, Kentucky on August 12, 1925 to the late Everett and Mary (Puckett) Witt. The family moved to Indiana in 1937.

Kathaleen graduated from Lynn High School in 1944.  She was married to Marcus Cassady on June 8, 1943.  Kathaleen was a member of the Winchester Church of the Nazarene.  She gave her heart to the Lord early in her life and appreciated her church family so much.  She was a stay at home mom who loved her children very much.  Kathaleen loved working in her flowers, especially starting roses from small cuttings and then sharing the small bushes with her friends and neighbors.  She also enjoyed painting especially landscapes which she gave to her family and friends.  Kathaleen was always thankful for the many years the Lord permitted Mark and her to be together. 

Kathaleen is survived five children, Gloria Cassady of San Diego, CA, Shirley (Joe) Kolp of Lynn, Pamela King of Aurora, IN, Bruce (Julia) Cassady of Cape Coral, FL and Brent (Fiancée Stacy) Cassady of Noblesville; eight grandchildren, Ben Welch of San Diego, CA, Joe Max (Kristen) Kolp of Chugiak, Alaska, Shannon (Brad) Dillon of Muncie, Tori Rice of Lake Side, CA, Nika Moore of Lawrenceburg, IN, Britanny (Ernesto) Cantu of Essex Junction, VA, Trevor (Kimberly) Cassady of Chicago, IL, and Hope Kathaleen (Tanner) Coulter of Anderson; 15 great grandchildren, Lenore, Lola Sue, Tanner, Emily, Ake, Leighanna, Taylor, Joe, Josh, Sadie, Elaina, Marcus, and Anastacia, Aurora and Austin; three great grandchildren, Elliot, Evangeline, and Claire; and a brother, Sam (Fran) Witt of Midland, TX.

Kathaleen is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marcus whom passed away May 4, 2016; a grandson, Aaron Cassady; and a sister, Nancy Helms.

There will be a private family service with Pastor Danny Hines officiating.  Burial will be at Fountain Park Cemetery.
