Mary Anne Seerley, 93, of Winchester, Indiana went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2022. She was born March 8, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Howard and Jeanette (Whitson) Moore.
Mary Anne met John Seerley when they were both freshmen at Decatur Central High School, and they were sweethearts from that time forward. They graduated in 1947 and married a year later. Mary Anne worked in the offices of the Indiana State Police and Indiana National Bank while John began his college education at Purdue. She then joined him there and their first daughter was born. When John graduated they returned to Indianapolis to farm with John’s father.
In 1964 they moved to Lynn, Indiana and continued farming. When they retired from farming, they moved to Ocala, Florida. Mary Anne was an excellent homemaker and an active member of her churches in Lynn, Ocala and Spartanburg. She enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles , reading and camping with her children and grandchildren. Her kindness and compassion were poured out on family, friends and strangers alike.
Mary Anne is survived by her sister Phyllis Warriner and sister-in-law Joy Burkhardt, sister-in-law Cinda (Bill) Schabel, daughter Sue Ann (Kris - deceased) Dines, daughter Becky (Randy) Welch, son Steve (Sharon) Seerley, several nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents, sister Florence (Tilford) Bailey, brother Harold (Jeanette) Moore, brother Kenneth (Marge) Moore, brother Robert Moore, cousin Janet Milholland.
A service to celebrate Mary Anne's life will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, Indiana. Burial will follow at Spartanburg cemetery. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 12:00 pm to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
