Mary Hazel Hudson, 78, of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Pine Knoll Rehabilitation Center in Winchester. She was born to John D. and Flossie (Strickland) Collins on November 26, 1943, in Loris, South Carolina.
Hazel married Danny L. Hudson on February 4, 1964. She was an avid fan of NASCAR always cheering for the Earnhardts. Hazel loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Voice of Christ Church.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Danny; three children, Penny (John) Elliott, Danny Hudson, Jr., and Daphne (Rob) Croyle; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Elsie (Jerry) Coblentz; a brother, David (Della Mae) Collins; a sister-in-law, Lunnett Collins; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings; and her beloved daughter, Lisa.
A service to celebrate Hazel’s life will be at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Pastor Jeff Straley officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
Friends and family may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, as well as an hour before services on Friday, all at the funeral home.
