Mary Ann Ellis, 82, of Winchester, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, August 11, 2024. She was born on July 9, 1942, in Winchester, to John Leonard Wasson and Oneida (Merrill) Phillips.
Mary Ann was a nursing aid. She attended Ricky Conney Baptist Church. Mary Ann enjoyed watching Perry Mason and Murder She Wrote, as well as working on puzzels and crocheting. She also enjoyed listening to old country music like Loretta Lynn, Patsey Cline, and Hank Williams, Sr. Miss Mary loved her family and being a mother and aunt to her daughter and 41 nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Joanna Ellis; three sisters, Ruth, Kathy and Anna.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Lorraine “Butch” Ellis; her parents; a sister, Nancy; and brothers, John and Bill
A service to celebrate Mary Ann’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Fountain Park Cemetery.
