Marlena (Spade) James, 74 (WD9IEJ) of Ridgeville, IN, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at home. She was born on May 25, 1947, in Winchester, to James and Martha (Zook) Spade.
Marlena was a homemaker and retired from Dave’s Video in Winchester. She was a 1965 graduate of WCHS. She was Treasurer of Ward Township Fireman’s Aux, Secretary and Treasurer of Saratoga Homemakers, member of Buena Vista Christian Church, and member of Randolph County Amateur Radio Association. She was a former member and officer of Winchester Bowling Association and Indiana Red Knights MC 1.
Marlena is survived by her son Darin (Spanky) James (Melissa Correll Arnold); daughter, Marti (Greg) Stump; grandson, Draven James; granddaughter, Shelby (Jake) Conatser and kids, Camdyn and Jazlyn; stepmother Freda Spade; and sister, Darla Hamm.
Marlena was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Herbert James; her parents; and brothers, Jimmy and Doug Spade.
A service to celebrate Marlena’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Steve Conner officiating. Burial will be at Fountain Park Cemetery at a later date.
Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Buena Vista Christian Church, 5434 W. 300 S. Farmland, IN 47340 or Ward Township Fireman’s Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, 1422 E. 500 N., Winchester, IN 47394.
