Marla Lawrence

Marla A. Lawrence, 75, passed away March 8, 2025 at Parker Health Care after one year of battling cancer. Marla was born in Portland, Indiana May 31, 1949. 

She attended Jay County Schools and worked at the Aluminum Foundry in Winchester, before going to work at Tyson Foods in Portland the last 19 years.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell Lawrence whom she was married to for 58 years. Her two sons Lee Friend (Kimmy Bishop), and Curtis Friend (Marianne Journay). Three grandchildren Cole, Jenna, and Aubrey. 

Marla had several friends but Diane, Juanita, Cathy, Kim, and Nancy were special in later years among others. 

Darrell wants to thank family and friends for there support. She will be missed.

Friends and family may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 11, 2025 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester.

Private family services will be held at Saratoga Cemetary with Chaplin Philip Rogers officiating. 

Memorials may be made in Marla’s memory to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
