Mark A. Rickert, 75, lifelong resident of Randolph County, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026.

Born, August 31, 1950, to Philip and Margie Rickert. Mark was a graduate of Winchester Community High School, Class of 1968.

Mark was preceded in death by both parents and in-laws Jack and Wanda Hollowell.

Mark is survived by the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Shirley (Hollowell) Rickert, two sons Brandon Rickert and Jeremy (Connie) Rickert, his cherished and loved grandchildren, Addison Rickert, Cameron Rickert and Macy Rickert, a sister, Karen Pittman and nephews and niece he always treated as his own, Brian (Barb) Hollowell, Jamie Lay, Aaron (Megan) Hollowell, Marci (Lay) Smith and Cole Pittman, Brothers and Sisters in law, Chris Lay, Sandee Lay, Steve Hollowell and Luanna Hollowell.

Mark earned his BA degree from Indiana University in 1972. Following graduation, he faithfully served in the Indiana Army National Guard from 1972 to 1978. After his military service, Mark joined his Grandpa Noel and Dad at Rickert Implement, where he worked until 1996. In 1997, he joined Shirley at Kings Title and Abstract, where they worked side by side until 2007. Together, they later founded Rickert Title, a business that continues to serve the community today under the leadership of Shirley and Jeremy.

Mark was a proud member of the Scottish Rite, Mural Shriners, Phi Delta Kappa, the Winchester Masonic Lodge, American Legion of Ridgeville and the Winchester Moose. He found great joy watching (anything) IU, a #1 fan, fishing, golfing, boating and the races at Eldora. Above all, Mark treasured time spent with his family. He will be remembered for character, strong work ethic, loyalty and the deep love he had for those closest to him.

Mark’s legacy lives through his family and the community he served. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
