Majorie Colleen Cook, 96, of Winchester passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at home in Winchester.
Majorie was born April 27, 1929 in Hagerstown, IN to late Raymond C. and Jeanette (Dale) Dumford. She attended school in Hagerstown. Majorie was married to John T. Cook for 63 years until his death in 2010.
She is survived by her son John R. Cook of Farmland, Indiana and many nieces and nephews. Majorie is preceded in death by her husband, parents, six sisters, Lily, Inez, Audrey, Lois, Nola and Shirley and six brothers, Leo, Omar, Everett, Warner, Hubert and Herbert.
In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing with her Dad and mushroom hunting with anyone willing to tramp through the woods with her. Majorie loved studying God’s Word and was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, serving as a Sunday School teacher for 15 years and in many other areas. She enjoyed being Den Mother for Cub Scouts for many years. She loved to travel with her husband, family, and friends. A faithful prayer warrior, she constantly prayed for her immediate family, extended family, friends, and neighbors.
Per Majorie’s wishes there will be a private family service. Burial will proceed at Fountain Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Cancer Services for Randolph County, 133 N Meridian St, Winchester, IN 47394.
