Lucile Parker Obituary

Lucile Elaine (Berry) Parker, 83, Winchester, IN passed away unexpectedly at her home in Winchester on Saturday June 26, 2021. She was a lifelong resident of Winchester.

She was born July 11, 1937 to the late Browning & Leona Berry in Randolph County. She was a graduate of Lynn High School class of 1955. Lucile then went on to attend college at Ball State University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Teaching. She began teaching at Spartanburg and Lynn and then spent the rest of her teaching career at Winchester Community High School where she retired in 1994 with a combined 35 years of teaching.

Lucile married David Parker December 23, 1961. While her husband was alive they enjoyed multiple motorcycle trips on their Goldwing traveling around the United States. She was an avid WCHS sports fan going to all of the local Winchester Community High School basketball games. She was also an active member of the Compass Methodist Church in Winchester.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband David L Parker, their infant son Dean Allen Parker, brother Dave Berry, brother in law John Hyre, sister in law Marilyn Turner, nephew John Allen Hyre.

She is survived by her sister Susan Hyre, sister in law Barb Berry, nephews Jeff (Chrissy) Berry, and Jan (Marcia) Keys, nieces Pam (Neil) Costick, Cynthia Acre, and Bonnie (Paul) Eppert, great niece Amanda (Adlai) Chester, nephews Kris Turner, Kelly (Karen) Turner, Kevin (Diana) Turner, Randy (Judy) Keys, and several great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may gather to celebrate Lucile's life Tues. July 6, 2021 from 12-2 with the service to follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Duncan officiating, at Walker Funeral Home, in Winchester.. Burial will be at Fountain Park Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the Compass Methodist Church of Winchester.
