Kris Scott Gullett

Kris Scott Gullett passed away on August 25th, 2022 at Randolph County Nursing Home surrounded by family after a long battle with Multiple System Atrophy. He will be dearly missed.   Kris was born December 27, 1957, in Winchester to Jerry Gullett and Diane Brookshire Watson

Kris graduated in 1976 from Winchester Community High School.  He married Laura Haney on March 9, 1991.  Kris worked for various excavating and farm drainage companies before starting Gullett’s Farm Drainage, Inc, in 1993. Kris loved his job and took great pride in a job well done.  In Kris’ free time he loved to participate in sports from Little League Baseball to High School Wrestling and of course Bowling and Golf. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing guitar.  If he wasn’t outside, he was watching Golf, Bowling, NASCAR, football, baseball and especially IU Basketball, on tv. He was always loyal to his teams regardless of their performance. You could also probably find him at the honky (the A&B) playing cards with his friends.

Most of all, Kris loved spending time with his family. He was always there to help his friends and family in any way he could.

He is survived by his wife Laura Gullett, his children Elisha Casada of Ridgeville, Jarrod Gullett (Heidi) of Winchester and Katie Franklin (Anthony) of Selma, and his grandchildren Dylan Casada, Codey Longfellow, Ashlyn Longfellow, Trenton Gullett, Addison Franklin, Charlotte Franklin, one great-grandchild Xavier Longfellow, His brothers Tim Andrews (Georgeann) of Inverness, FL and Jamie Gullett of Homosassa, FL. Other surviving family members include Aunt Jody Harvey, Max and Maxine Cox, Willard and Kathy Haney, Charles and Linda Williams, several cousins, nieces and a nephew and his faithful four-legged friend, Ein.

Kris was preceded in death by his Parents - Jerry Gullett and Diane Brookshire Watson, Daughter – Kayla Gullett, Grandparents – Ruth Gullett, Jim and Ruby Gullett, Bufford and Grace Brookshire, Cousin – Tony Kennedy and several aunts and uncles.

A celebration of Kris’ life will be at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Melissa Kleinschmidt officiating.  Burial will follow at the Buena Vista Cemetery.

Friends and family may call from 5-8 p.m., on Tuesday, August 30, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kayla Gullett Scholarship Fund, c/o Ahe Plant 3 Federal Credit Union, 720 W Franklin St, Winchester, IN 47394.
