Joyce Elaine Simmons

Joyce Elaine Simmons, age 75, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at Pineknoll Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, Indiana, surrounded by loved ones.

Joyce was born on October 27, 1950, in Winchester, Indiana, and was the daughter of the late William Thomas Partin and Cora Ellen Partin.

Joyce was a kind and compassionate woman who always looked for the good in everyone. She devoted much of her life to helping others and worked tirelessly throughout her career. She spent 20 years working in an automotive factory and more than 10 years employed by a local hardwood manufacturer.

She had a deep love for all animals and believed they were just as important as people. Her caring heart, strength, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by two brothers, William Thomas Partin II and Rodney Van Partin; one sister, Vicki Rowe; and her great-niece, Brooke Lipps.

She is survived by her son, Harold Duane (Janel) Simmons; her two grandsons, Nick and Chad Simmons; her sister, Ruby Lee (Jeff) Brown; and her brother, Larry Wayne (Christy) Partin.

She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly: Tina (Chris) Rhodus, Penny Moore, Cindy Pierce, Tabitha Kennedy, Robbie and Tori Reardon, Levi (Gracie) Partin, Angel (Grant) Mayes, Jessie (Trevor) Lemon, Jordan (Austin) Smith, and Cody Edwards; as well as her cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, Maddix, Liam, Kennedy, Ashley, Codey, Brittany, Marissa,

Joyce worked hard and loved deeply. Her passing is part of God’s perfect plan, and she has now gone home to eternal peace. While our hearts mourn, we take comfort in the love she left behind.

Friends and Family may gather from 11:00am to 1:00pm Friday February 13 at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester. The service will follow at 1:00 officiated by Martin Wells. Burial will follow at Jericho Cemetery.
