Joyce C. (Barkdull) Clouse

Joyce C. Clouse, 89, of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Parker Health Care.

Joyce was born on April 18, 1935, in Portland, Indiana to the late William F. and Frances V. (Patterson) Barkdull.

Joyce was a 1953 graduate of Saratoga High School. She went to work at the Back Stay in Union City. She met and fell in love with James L. Clouse and they were married on May 8, 1955. Joyce enjoyed playing Euchre and Hand and Foot. She was a member of the Neighborly Club and Wise Owls. She loved the Big 10 teams. She enjoyed watching the Colts play and her favorite players were Jeff Saturday and Peyton Manning. She loved reading books and doing word search puzzles. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by two children, Rory J. Clouse (wife Gloria), Carol J. Wilson (husband Jeff); grandchildren, Joseph Brock Stevick (Nicole Paiz), Christopher Andrew Wilson, Lucas Matthew Stevick (Krystal Smith), Sarah Renee Stevick (Ken Holt), and Dylan James Clouse; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Diane Prescott and Patricia Moore (husband Richard); and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Clouse; two daughters, Jennifer L. Clouse and Vivian J. Clouse; a grandson, Morgan James Christopher Clouse; three siblings, Leslie Barkdull, Ronald Barkdull (Dixie Barkdull); brother-in-law, Harry Prescott.

A funeral service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held at 1:00pm Monday, March 17, 2025, at Walker Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Straley officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11am until 1pm Monday at Walker Funeral Home.
