Joy M. Norman, 89, of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.
Joy was born on February 18, 1936, in Modoc, Indiana to the late Hugh and Alvina (Culy) Peters. Joy attended McKinley High School. Joy spent her life as a homemaker raising her family and had also owned a chair caning business. She attended East Steet Congregational Church and Winchester Friends Church. Joy enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, and gardening.
Joy is survived by two daughters, Kathy Simmons (husband Doug), and Lesa Norman; a son, Kenneth Norman; brother, Norman Peters (wife Karen); sister, Betty Deckard; three grandsons, Ben Simmons, Andrew Simmons (wife Erica), and Michael Norman; and three great-grandsons, Jaiden, Aiden, and Carson Simmons.
Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Norman Jr., and a sister, Nancy Brady.
Joy’s family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
