Johnnie Blackburn age 92 of Winchester, Indiana passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, peacefully with his family by his side. Johnnie, a loyal husband, a wonderful father, an inspiring grandfather, and a trusted friend.
A native of Clinton County, Kentucky, Johnnie has lived in Winchester, Indiana for over 60 years, where he retired from Overmeyer Mould. Many in Winchester, knew Johnnie by his nickname Blackie when he played softball at the park, bowled in his many leagues, or was playing golf out at the golf course. When he wasn’t working and playing sports, he was enjoying traveling the country on his Honda Goldwing motorcycle that was an amazing site with over 1000 lights.
Johnnie leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 73 years, Phyllis Blackburn, his daughters Berniece (Blackburn) Harrison and husband Ray; and Patti (Blackburn) Davis and husband Fred; 6 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
A celebration of Life for Johnnie will be held from 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, followed by a burial ceremony at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, IN. We invite all who would like to show their respect for this amazing man who dedicated his entire life to his family.
