Janet M. (Bigelow) Winbigler

Janet M. Winbigler, 89, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025.  Janet was born on May 18, 1935 in Winchester, Indiana to Walter A. and Mary Bigelow. 

Janet graduated from Winchester Community High School in 1953 and attended Ball State University.  Janet worked in Indianapolis for several years before returning to Winchester to marry her high school sweetheart Paul C. Winbigler.  They were married for 38 years before his passing in 2013.  Janet worked at the Winchester Hospital for many years and also worked for the Dunnuck Law Firm in Muncie until her retirement.  Janet was a member and officer of the Women of the Moose and an auxiliary member of the Farmland Legion.  She was also a board member of the Fountain Park  Cemetery for many years before retiring in October of 2024.

Janet is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Dan) Hawley and Tammy Rhoades, her grandchildren Logan Hawley and McKinna (Anthony) Bailey and her great-grandchildren, Maci, Levi and Emma Bailey.

Viewing will be held at the Chapel at Fountain Park Cemetery on January 30, 2025 at 12:00 with a service at 1:00.  Debi Howell will officiate.

The family would like to thank Dr. Alison Syme and her staff for all of the loving care and concern over the past several years.

In lieu of flowers, Janet requested donations be made to the Winchester Moose Scholarship Fund.
