Jacquelyn "Jackie" Anderson Obituary

Jacquelyn "Jackie" Sue Gaylor Anderson, age 85, left this world on February 23, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

Born on July 9, 1938, to Norval Gaylor and Marjorie Jones Gaylor, Jackie lived her entire life in Winchester. She was only four years old when her mother, Marjorie, passed away. Donnabelle Jean Snyder Gaylor adopted Jackie after her marriage to Norval.

Jackie was a talented vocalist and pianist. As a teenager, she sang at various local events and pageants, at a national convention in Los Angeles, at Don McNeill's Breakfast Club in Chicago, and a few times at the Ruth Lyons show in Cincinnati. Her love of music was still evident just hours before her passing. Jackie met her husband, Frank Anderson, at the Winchester Mardi Gras when she was 13. They would have been married 68 years in June. Jackie had no siblings, but she enjoyed being a part of Frank's large family.

She worked for Randolph Central School Corporation most of her adult life in various administrative staff positions. Her final role was at the superintendent's office. Jackie had a full life on the family farm: raising her children, gardening, helping with livestock, and assisting with fieldwork during planting and harvest seasons. She enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren at singing, sporting, and band events.

Survivors include her husband, Frank; daughters, Donna (Gerry) Keesling and Darinda (Randy) Wells; daughter-in-law, Debbie Anderson; grandchildren, Darah (Deiter) Luedike, Drew Anderson and Jessi, Devin (Jessica) Anderson, Michael (Emily) Keesling, Grant Keesling, Brendan (Dana) Laudenbacher, Michaela (Donald) Friend, and Spencer (Hannah) Densmore; great-grandchildren, Denae, Derek, and Damon Anderson, Addy and Brody Keesling, Anderson and Malia Friend, and Finley Laudenbacher; special friends Roger and Joyce Hammers; numerous family and friends.

Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved firstborn, Douglas Kent Anderson, the grandmother who helped care for her during her young life, Verda Georgianna Gertrude Achor Jones, and her parents.

A celebration of Jackie and Frank's lives together will be held on Saturday, March 9, from 2-4 PM at the Towne Square Community Center, 123 W Franklin St, Winchester. A brief memorial service for Jackie will occur at two o'clock, followed by an upbeat, casual gathering with music and light refreshments for family and friends.

Instead of flowers, per Jackie's request, memorial contributions are encouraged for the Winchester Community High School Music Department. Envelopes for contributions will be available at the celebration.
