Jackie (Jack) Gillum, 86, of Winchester, passed away at his home on Friday, August 27, 2021. Jack was born September 24, 1934, in Portland, IN to Benjamin and Mabel (Cordray) Gillum.
Jack served in the Navy during the Korean War and retired from Anchor Hocking Glass in 1989. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge with a Pilgrim Degree. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, following Bill Elliott, Kasey Kahne, and Chase Elliott.
Jack is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara; daughters, Jenny (Michael) Pugh of Redkey, Judy (Tim) Day and Joy (Tim) Keys, of Winchester; grandchildren, Chad (Sarah) Lykins of Redkey, Edward (Sara) Lykins of Biloxi, MS, Timothy (Gina) Day and Kiana Keys of Winchester; great grandchildren, CJ, Nick and Kaylene Lykins of Redkey, Hannah Price, Christopher Dillion, Nathan, Syrissa, and Allison Lykins of Biloxi, MS, Caleb and Victoria Riley, Savanna Day, Lilly Rich, Caydence Mantock, Paislyn Carroll all of Winchester, and Christopher Manning of Muncie; and a great great grandchild, Brooklyn Lykins; sister, Martha (Dennis) Oliver; and a brother, Bob (Madonna) Gillum.
Jack was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lewis; three grandchildren, Heather Huxhold, Jackie Riley, and Kyle Keys; his parents, Mabel and Benjamin Gillum; brothers, Bill Gillum, Edward Gillum, Benjamin Gillum, Jr, David Kneuss; sisters, Phyllis Mathis, Lois Norman, Shirley Gullett, Ellen Ford, Della Kennedy Mary Smith, and Linda Gillum.
A service to celebrate Jack’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the Walker Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Bullard officiating. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in Portland.
