Jack Wilt Obituary

Jack A. Wilt, 74, of Winchester, passed away Monday evening, January 24, 2022, at Reid Hospital, Richmond.  He was born January 22, 1948, in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Lester and Betty (Bruner) Wilt.

Jack was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Winchester.  He was a 1966 graduate of Lee L. Driver High School in Winchester and then graduated from United Electronics Institute in 1968.  As a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, he worked as a radio repairman from 1969 to 1972 with a tour in Vietnam.  He worked as a maintenance man for several local factories (including Lobdell Emery for almost 25 years) until his retirement.  Jack was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He enjoyed being busy at all times, from working in his garden, building model cars and planes, volunteering his services to the veteran community, to fixing things for his family members.  He would do anything to help out.

Jack is survived by his wife of 45 years, Connie (Shafer) Wilt; 4 daughters, Amy (husband Ernie) Fields, Portland, Vicki (husband Blake) Everhart, Ridgeville, Kristy (husband Matt) Deeds, Mishawaka, and Jackie (husband Stuart) Hendrickson, Winchester; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren (with 2 on the way); a brother, John (wife Jane) Wilt, Winchester; a brother-in-law, Jolly Baldwin, Winchester; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Shafer, Winchester; and several, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Alice (Wilt) Baldwin.
