Iris Vivian (Hesser) Peterson

Iris Vivian Peterson, 94, of Winchester passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

She was born on November 28, 1926 to the late George and Madonna Hesser. She married Richard Peterson on October 28, 1948 and they were blessed with two sons Greg and Gary.

She was a member of the former Winchester United Methodist Church where she was the organist for many years. She was also a long-standing member of a social group called the Ad-a-Link club.

She began working in the office of The Eastern Indiana Telephone Company in Winchester. She also worked seasonally at The Campbell Soup Company in Saratoga and the Randolph County Courthouse.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, of nearly 73 years, a brother Leon Hesser, a special brother/cousin Jon Meeks, a son Gary (Susan) Peterson, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son Greg and a special sister/cousin Wanda Rhoades.

A service to celebrate Vivian’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester.  Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.

Friends and family may call from 12-2 p.m., on Saturday, at the funeral home.
