Iris Joan (Huddleston) Jenkins 74, of Modoc, IN, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday July 15, 2022. She was born September 14, 1947 in Lynn, Indiana, the daughter of William Huddleston and Dorothy (Vannatta) Huddleston.
Iris graduated from Lynn High School. She worked as a caregiver for many years. She loved to read books and write in journals. She was a member of Winchester United Pentecostal Church. Iris was a great cook and passed a family tradition of making homemade noodles to her children and grandchildren.
Iris is survived by her husband of 56 and a half years, Morris Jenkins Sr; a daughter, Michelle (Shelley) (Lance) Pate of Hanover, Indiana; a son, Morris (Bub) Jr (Brandy) Jenkins of Farmland, Indiana; a daughter, Jennifer (Jill) Lavy, of Decatur, Indiana and a son, Jonathan (Jon) (Lynda) Jenkins, of Ft. Oglethrope, GA; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a sister Mary Shaneyfelt.
Iris was preceded in death by her father, William Huddleston and her mother Dorothy Huddleston, 4 brothers, Dan Huddleston, Gary Huddleston, Steve Huddleston, Mike Huddleston, and one sister, Carol Jones and Son's in law Corey Lavy, and Ronnie Riley.
A celebration of life for Iris will be at 1:00 p.m., on Friday July 22, 2022 at Winchester United Pentecostal Church with Joe Huddleston officiating. Burial will follow at Quaker Lynn Cemetery in Lynn.
