Gerald “Jerry” Lee Greenawalt, 88, of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024. He was born on September 13, 1935, in Jeannette, Pennsylvania to Henry Edward and Mary Elizabeth (Miller) Greenawalt. On March 2, 1957, he married Elizabeth Jean “Betty” Russell.
Jerry retired from Overmyer Mould Company after 43 years of service in 1998, where he was Manager of Quailty Control and Special Projects. He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Winchester. Jerry was a former member and President of the Winchester Rotary Club and former Assistant Governor of Rotary District 6560. He was the former Executive Director of Winchester Chamber of Commerce for 3 years, and coordinated Winchester Main Street streetscape project of period light poles, benches, etc.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty; a sister, Sally (David) McColly of Boise, Idaho; a brother-in-law, Bill (Mary) Russell of Palmetto, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceeded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers.
A service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home, in Winchester, Indiana, with Monte Poling officiating. Entombment will be at the Columbarium at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
