Evelyn Berniece Hendrickson, 101, of Winchester, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Parker Health Care in Parker City, Indiana. She was born on May 14, 1922, in Randolph County, to Guy and Hila (Johnson) Friar.
Evelyn graduated from Lincoln High School. She worked as a hospital receptionist at Traverse City Hospital and worked in sales at Crawford Jewelry. Evelyn was a member of Randolph Friends Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir, traveling, baking, cooking and sewing. She had a loving smile and a listening ear.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Terry (Sharon) Reynard; grandchildren, Laura (Brian) Smith, Melissa (Shawn) Falls, and Brent (Tara) Nelson; 8 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren with 1 on the way.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harold Reynard; her second husband, Lee Hendrickson; a daughter, Rachel Nelson; sisters, Lucille Lock and Audrey Clark; brother, Rev. Glen C. Friar; son-in-law, Paul Nelson; step sons, Bob Hendrickson and Paul Hendrickson; her grandson-in-law, Ryan Nobel; and her precious sister-in-law, Imogene Hendrickson.
A service to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Randolph Friends Church, with Pastor Jonathan Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 4-6 p.m., on Wednesday, May 8, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester as well as an hour prior to the service on May 9, at the church.
