Ernest Lee Pittman, 80, of Winchester, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, with his family by his side, after a battle with dementia. Ernie was born May 24, 1942, in Winchester, to the late James and Mary Marie (Wesley) Pittman.
Ernie retired from Indiana Glass and worked at Anchor Hocking for many years. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, the Farmland American Legion and the Winchester Moose Lodge.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Vickie (Mills) Pittman; children, Robert (Chanda Hibbard) Pittman, Deborah (Brian) Beck, Michael Pittman, Marcella (Brent McCormick) Nunez, Jacob (Donna) Pittman, and step son, Jeremey (Mechelle) Reynolds; sisters, Mildred Sibert, Lucille (Ernie) Phenis, and Janet (Bob) Whitted; brothers, Larry Pittman and Rick (Melissa) Pittman; brother in law, Randy (Sandy) Mills; and sister in law, Laura (Chad Sipe) Gierhart.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Louis Don, Delmar, and Danny Pittman; brother in law, Tim Mills; and granddaughter, Morgan Qualls.
A service to celebrate Ernie’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Zach Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at the Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga, Indiana.
Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Friday, at the funeral home.
