Delbert (Gene) Gulley, 95, passed away on Sunday March 27, 2022 at Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota, Florida. He was born February 14, 1927 to Mary (Wigmore) and Ennis A. Gulley of Winchester, Indiana. Gene was a World War II veteran and served in the United States Navy as a radar operator. He was a Ford/Mercury dealer in Winchester and a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Rotary, and Masonic Lodge #56. He enjoyed his family, fishing, baseball, and watching NASCAR.
Gene will be remembered as a great mentor and as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He is survived by two children, Kent Gulley, of Sarasota, Florida and Teresa Armstrong, of Mapleton, Illinois; four grandchildren: Lauren Tapperson, Alison Goley, Chad Hawk, and Curtis Hawk; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn, on February 21, 2015, a daughter Karen Rhea (1950), and his siblings: Teola Addington, Janet Spear, Marjorie Coffeen, Keith Gulley and Frederick Gulley.
A celebration of life service will be held in Winchester in the summer of 2022.
