David Allen Poole, 86, of Winchester, Indiana passed away on Monday May 4, 2026 in Reid hospital, Richmond.
Born June 15, 1939, in Greensburg, PA., he was the son of the late Earl and Ethel (Hays) Poole.
He was an inspector for 40 years at Overmyer Mould. He was a member of the Darke County Aero Modelers Association. He loved to build and fly radio-controlled model airplanes and was also an avid woodworker. He also enjoyed listening to bluegrass music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Dennis, Duane, Darwin, and Dale and Sister-in-law Bonnie.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Cathy and sisters-in-law Betty Ann, Perri, Wendy, and Edie (Anthony) Cortazzo, his two children, Scott (Anita) and Sharon Gauthier, his grandchildren Jessica Omarian (Aiman) and Andrew Gauthier (Ashley), along with 4 great-grandchildren.
Family and Friends will be received from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Thursday May 28th at Walker Funeral Home 248 E. South Street Winchester, IN. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Richard Alvey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in David’s memory be made to a hospice organization or charity of your choosing.
