David “Dave” John Nordloh, 49, of Winchester, Indiana, passed away at his home on Friday, May 11, 2025. He was born on July 22, 1975, in Greensburg, Indiana, to John and Olivia Dee (Runkel) Nordloh.
A 1994 graduate of Winchester Community High School, Dave was a proud member of Phi Delta Kappa. He had a remarkable talent for painting, with a career that began in Missouri where he worked on multiple large lake homes. Eventually, he brought his skills back to Winchester, leaving his mark on several local businesses, including Haines Drug Store, Randolph Inn & Suites pool and fitness facilities, and Walker Funeral Home.
Dave also worked as a Certified Mould Maker for both Omega and Ardagh. After returning to Winchester, he began helping his father with the family farm and after his father’s passing, Dave continued the Nordloh tradition, finding peace and pride in the perfectly straight rows and quiet rhythm of farm life.
Dave’s passions were as bold as he was. He loved the lake, wakeboarding, boating, and soaking in the sun. He enjoyed long rides on his Harley, weekend cruises in his ’57 Chevy, monster truck rallies, cheering on the Colts, and especially relaxing on the beach with the ocean breeze around him. His best friend and dog, Puppy, who was always by his side, brought him comfort through life’s highs and lows.
Dave lived life on his own terms wild, tough, fearless, and full of unforgettable stories. He had a big heart, especially for the underdog, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He put others before himself and was a big kid at heart, especially when it came to spending time with nieces, nephews, and friends’ children always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. His presence filled a room, and his laugh could too.
Dave is survived by his son, Tyler Henderson; his mother, Olivia “Dee” Nordloh; and two sisters: Jonna Kenniston (and her partner D.J. Long) of Camdenton, Missouri, and Nancy (Gene) Stimble of Shell Knob, Missouri. He is also survived by his nieces, Abbie Kenniston and Mattie Stimble; nephews, Justin Kenniston, Donald Stimble, Patrick Stimble, and Nicholas Stimble; his Aunt Evelyn (Pete) Towns; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, John E. Nordloh; his paternal grandparents, Beltron "Bert" and Ethel Nordloh; his maternal grandparents, Marvin “Shorty” and Opal Mae Runkel; and his aunts Jane Sumwalt and Sharon Hill.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, from 5pm – 7pm at Walker Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In honor of Dave, the family encourages guests to wear something casual and bring a favorite memory to share.
