David Lee Harvey, 74, of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. He was born on October 27, 1949, in Randolph County, Indiana to Daurence and Martha Jean (Meyer) Harvey. On August 21, 1974, he married his wife Barbara.
David was a 1969 graduate of Winchester Community High School. He worked in the shipping department at Anchor Hocking. He also was a reserve on the Winchester Police Department as well as the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department. David was a member of the Winchester Moose Lodge and the Farmland Conservation Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, and spending time watching his grandchildren playing sports. He was a simple man and you always knew he was in the room.
David is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara; his sons, Christopher (Jamie) Harvey “Landess”, Jason Harvey, and Bill Harvey; daughter, Heather Wiedeman; two sisters, Cheri Cochran and Susie (Lonnie) Pitman; and grandchildren, Zack, Arian, Juke, Sydney, Conner, Ciara, Alexis, and Hailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dareck Harvey; and two sisters, Linda and Kathy Harvey.
A service to celebrate David’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Pastor Danny Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
Friends and family can call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, as well as an hour before funeral services on Friday, all at the funeral home.
